Event outline

  • ROUND 1:
    • Round 1 will test basic programming and computer science knowledge.
    • The first round will be an online MCQ test using the Wordwall website.
    • A time limit will be given to answer all the questions on Wordwall.
    • Points will be allotted per correct answer, with negative marking potentially implemented at the judges’ discretion.
    • The points of Round 1 will be totaled, and the top 4 participants will progress to Round 2.
  • ROUND 2:
  • Final Round
    • Round 2 will test programming and logical thinking skills in a 'Jeopardy' format with modifications.
    • The Jeopardy format features 4 teams with a matrix of questions of varying difficulties: 100 points, 200 points, and 300 points.
    • Questions will be hidden and can be accessed only once. Once answered, a question cannot be used by any other team.
    • Teams will take turns choosing questions. If a team fails to answer, the question is passed to the next team.
    • Categories and points for 12 questions will be displayed using a projector on a screen. Contestants can choose any available questions, with a limit of 3 questions per individual.
    • No internet connection will be available during Round 2.
  • Question Format:
    • 100-point questions have an allotted time of 5 minutes.
    • 200-point questions have an allotted time of 7 minutes and 30 seconds.
    • 300-point questions have an allotted time of 10 minutes.
  • Working of Event:
    • A timer will start when a team begins their program. Teams can use their lifelines (only for Round 2) during this time period.
    • The timer is stopped when the team submits their program to the judges’ email. This time is then used for the speed score.
  • Lifeline System:
    • In Round 2, contestants can use a lifeline corresponding to the number of points for a question.
    • A lifeline allows a participant to connect to the internet to search for information within a time period determined by the judges during the event.
    • 100-point questions get 2 lifelines.
    • 200-point questions get 4 lifelines.
    • 300-point questions get 6 lifelines.
